I was told that my front crankshaft was leaking oil. How do I repair this?

the oil pan will have to be taken off and a new seal put on to stop the leak.I was told that my front crankshaft was leaking oil. How do I repair this?
what kind of carI was told that my front crankshaft was leaking oil. How do I repair this?
that is a major labor intensive job. it is just the seal,

but breaking everything down is a job.

good luck

peace
It's your front crankshaft oil seal. Depends on what car you have. Most front seals are not too hard to replace. Entails removing the front belt pulley from the crankshaft, prising out the old seal with a big screwdriver, installing a new seal into the recess, and replacing the pulley and belt(s).

Requires a socket the correct size for the front pulley retaining bolt and a front pulley removing tooll.
most car you drop oil pan most cars cant without removing motor few you can either way if one has to ask you cant do it yourself wil need a shop sorry
Depends on the the car but your seal is leaking. somestimes they can do it in the car but usally need to take the engine out. If its not to bad you can just add oil and keep driving.
use an additive /get instructions from a book.unless you want to mind-meld with a vulcan.and good luck finding one of those.autozone.com
Bring your vehicle to another mechanic. 'Crankshafts' do not contain oil, so they can't leak. At both ends of a crankshaft there are crankshaft seals. Maybe the mechanic meant to tell you it is the 'crankcase' or the seals which hold a crankshaft in the engine that is leaking oil.
