Dealership didn't put oil in my car after they changed it and my engine seized. What repair options do I have?

In regards to the current motor in the vehicle....none. Do not under any conditions accept a ';repair'; to the current engine. If you do so they will do the cheapest rebuild possible and you'll sign away their liability the day you drive it off the lot.

If this information is solid and you can 100% prove the dealership failed to refill your engine with oil you are entitled to no less than a new engine...unless of course the vehicle is 15 years old (old or high mileage), then they will have to ';settle'; on an amount of the engines worth prior to their mishap and cut you a check or offer to repair it.

This is not uncommon, particularly in dealerships that try and turn over 15 minute oil changes. If you're experiencing any difficulty with them now or begin to experience difficulty then seek out a lawyer. The charges for letting a legal professional handle the situation will be less than the cost of repairing the car out of your pocket.

Hope this helps!Dealership didn't put oil in my car after they changed it and my engine seized. What repair options do I have?
You should be in the drivers seat here. You don't say what kind of vehicle or the mileage, but if it is fairly new or low mileage...tell them you will only accept a new engine. If it is pretty well used then a rebuilt would be appropriate (an exchange ...not using your current engine to rebuild). Others here suggest an attorney....That would cost money you don't need to spend. If they give you any problems contact the Attorney General of your state. No cost to you and they have a lot of clout dealing with things like this. Don't bother with the BBB...they have no power to do anything. Businesses must join and if they do not...no information is available.Dealership didn't put oil in my car after they changed it and my engine seized. What repair options do I have?
Since the damage caused by running the engine w/no oil is catastrophic there is no way to gauge the full extent of what is wrong, or what will go wrong in the future. You should not allow this engine to be repaired but insist in the replacement of the engine with a new one. The heat generated fatigues the metal used in all components of the engine from valve train to bearings/seats to cylinders, rods and pistons. Even if the engine is repaired to the point where it seems to be running smoothly and as before, you can count on problems down the road. And that is usually where you will be when they rear their ugly heads, down the road, in the middle of no-where, probably in a hurry to a very important event or appointment. Save yourself the headache and tell them you are conferring with your attorney to decide what recourse you have and I bet you get a new engine out of it.
Insist on a new engine! Dealer is responsible- period. Call the Better Business Bureau and ask them to help.
have them repair it,they are at fault
take it back to them, and make them put a new engine in....

If you did this yourself (since dealerships rarely make this mistake) you need to replace the bearings in your engine, and possibly new pistons, rings, and get your cylinders honed again...Or get a crate engine off ebay and swap it out...
Repairing a siezed engine is next to impossible, because there is simply too much damage. It would be wiser, although not necessarily cheaper, to install a new engine. I seriously doubt that the dealer did this. I am more inclined to believe, like another answerer suggested, that you did. If the dealer did it, you would not be asking what repair options you have. You would be asking what legal options you have.
make the dealership replace the engine - if they refuse, get an attorney.
Make the dealsership replace the motor otherwise hire a lawyer.
If your engine seized, you are probably going to need at least a new short block. You most likely scorched the pistons and bearings so I would make them give you a new engine.

Your heads may have gotten warped too so have them checked. You may need the whole new long block.

They caused it so they should fix it for free. If they give you any trouble, get a lawyer and sue them.
call a good attorney he should be able 2 help u out u need a new motor
THEY WILL EITHER REPAIR IT OR REPLACE IT, WHICH EVER IS THE CHEAPEST FOR THEM.

I WOULD ASK THEM TO REPLACE IT WITH A DEALER REBUILT ENGINE AND NOT GO WITH ANT TYPE OF REPAIRS.
