I have a 1993 Volvo 850 GLT and it has developed a small (1';) crack in the oil pan. It is leaking quite alot and the cheapest oil pan I can find is $385.00. Is there a cheaper way to fix the problem ?1993 Volvo 850 GLT oil pan repair?
You can take the pan off and try to find someone to weld up the crack. That's about as cheap is it will get. You might also try to find an oil pan at a salvage yard. Pretty much any 5cyl. oil pan with the spin on filter will fit.1993 Volvo 850 GLT oil pan repair?
the pan can be removed in about an hour.Take it to a welding shop and they should be able to fix it.When reinstalling the pan you must use the chemical gasket from volvo or something like it.Silicone will not work.
It will be expensive to fix. Because on any car, you have to lift the engine up to remove the pan.
