How much is a decent price to pay for an oil change for a sportbike at a repair shop?

Matt, do it yourself and set up a log on your computer!

Record everytime you do a change.

You will save a lot of money doing it and the only time you really need to go to a mechanic for a modern sportsbike is your major service if you can't do it yourself or if you have an F.I. problem!

Give it a go but the answer to your question will vary between each mechanic.I would say it shouldn't cost any more than

$150.

The breakdown of it would be:

$60 labour

$40 to $90 Oil depending what you ask for. And thats no guarantee that they give you what you want!

$15 Oil Filter

$10 Cleaning

It shouldn't take any longer than a half an hr to do this if you hace most of what you need tool wise!

Good Luck,

The only reason the shop changes my oil is because I have a service contract with them. Otherwise, I'd rather spend the $40 on some nice Bel-Ray semi synthetic and a new filter and do the job myself. Shops like to charge anywhere from $50 to $80, which is ridiculous. How much is a decent price to pay for an oil change for a sportbike at a repair shop?
I got a honda Rc51. I paid 70 bucks to get mine changed cuz that was the labor cost for a hour. That did'nt include the price for the expensive cost the high performance filter and the Castrol full synthetic for v-twins. So all in all it was expensive. Next time iom just going to do it myself. The plastics are easy to take off and all you really have to worry about is draining all the oil and disposing of it.
If you can't loosen a bolt, unscrew a filter, and add oil.. You probably shouldn't be riding a bike.. maybe the person that dresses you in the morning could change your oil? Cuz i know you couldn't manage that on your own.
