Is 2000 Toyota Camry worth repairing? Leaking oil bad, cut it off as soon as it made a noise...seal broke.?

2000 Toyota Camry belongs to a friend. I told her I would post for her since I have posted on this site before.

This car has 200,000 miles...ran great prior to this...is it worth fixing? Camry has been very dependable until now. Is it worth fixing or should I try to sell it for parts (there are tons of these cars on the road)? The a/c, cd/tape/radio, power windows and doorlocks, power seat, entry fobs, etc. work perfectly. What course of action should she take to make a dtermination on what to do with this car? ...it is too good to just junk!Is 2000 Toyota Camry worth repairing? Get a few estimates on the repair costs. A Camry with 200K miles isn't worth much but if the repairs are reasonable, repairing it will be much cheaper than replacing it.

My mantra has always been; ';I'd rather pay $600 twice a year to fix an old car then to pay $300 a month for a new one.';

If the value of the car is less than the cost of repairs then push it into the used car lot and trade it in. But remember the true value of a car far exceeds it's cash value. Having a reliable car that is paid for is a priceless commodity.Is 2000 Toyota Camry worth repairing? Leaking oil bad, cut it off as soon as it made a noise...seal broke.?
That car has reached the mileage and age where it will start calling for parts and repair, alternator, WP, starter, 1/2 shafts etc. etc. So you'll be fixing an almost 9yo car to, in effect, make payments on.

Don't believe those that say it'll last 250k, they haven't worked at import shops like I did. Some do w/o a lot of trouble, any will with work, a lot become money pits, soaking up a lot of $100. to $200. repairs right before the motor or trans dies.
junk it
trade it....[junk it]
If she can get a cheap good working engine with low miles maybe she can do an engine swap, try a junkyard
